After giving fans a sneak peek earlier this month, Muni Long and Mariah Carey have now dropped their much-anticipated “Made For Me (Remix).”
The recent Platinum certification from the RIAA solidifies the single's status as one of the year's hottest R&B records, and what better way to elevate it than by adding a global icon to the mix.
The updated version includes additional background vocals from Carey and a new verse.
I'm not a fan of it. I think the AI version that was circulating on the internet ruined it for me because it was almost so.. believable. I think they tried so hard to make it sound different from the AI version, but in doing so, they took away from the song's simplistic elegance. I'm surprised they would still release it with the AI version out there. I appreciate both of their vocals when they sing alone, but together, it sounds slightly forced. On a side note, I would love to hear how Mariah would have done this song solo.
In saying all that, the song is already doing amazing things for Muni, so having the Mariah bragging rights could just be another notch in her belt.
