The tribute was really impressive to watch and also quite interesting at the same time. Don't you think?
This year, Usher was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards. The event brought together some of today's top and most influential artists to pay tribute to Usher Raymond by performing renditions of his greatest hits. Childish Gambino, Keke Palmer, Chloe Bailey, Teyana Taylor, and other talented artists delivered a captivating musical tribute to the R&B King.
As I watched and nodded in support, I couldn't help but wonder, "Where are all the male artists? Was nobody available? Were Luke James, Miguel, Avery Wilson, Tyrese, and Tank all too busy and booked to participate?" Usher is an iconic male R&B singer, often considered the current King of his genre, and he has upheld a successful career spanning three decades. And I'm not saying the ladies didn't do a superb job; in fact, Chloe and Teyana Taylor absolutely nailed their performances. It just would have been nice to see other male artists Usher has influenced pay homage; it would have been fitting.
As previously stated, the girls did a commendable job with their tribute performances. You can get into that greatness below. But let's continue to discuss this in the comments. Am I overreacting, or do you also feel that a male lineup would have made more sense?
