  • Ice Spice Sizzles on Rolling Stone Cover: Opens Up About Taylor Swift Admiration, Nicki Minaj and Latto Feuds, and More!

Ice Spice Heats Up the Cover of Rolling Stone Magazine In celebration of her new album Y2K , 23-year-old rap sensation Ice Spice graces the cover of Rolling Stone's latest issue. The New York native is shaking up the music scene with her raw lyrics, catchy beats, and unstoppable enthusiasm. In her candid Rolling Stone interview, Ice Spice confronts the controversy surrounding her feud with Nicki Minaj, declaring, "I'm not intimidated by anyone. I'm focused on creating music and enjoying the ride." She also confesses her admiration for Taylor Swift, calling herself a "huge fan" of the popstar. On supposed beef with Nicki Minaj, and those leaked text messages: She’s busy as hell. I don’t really think she cares about shit like that coming from a random girl. But what I said in those texts was just in a moment of frustration around contract negotiations. I could have chose different words. But at the end of the day, regardless of how I felt in that moment, [Nicki] is still somebody I respect as an artist, and I’m always going to admire everything she’s done for me and the culture. On her beef with Latto: I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her ‘What’s the issue?’ it’d be like a blank stare. It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me. I can understand a friendly competition, but I just feel like at this point it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out, and it’s just not even funny. Like, bro, ‘Think U the S**t’ is from January. You’re going to post a piece of s**t cake to announce something that’s good news for you? But it is kind of a compliment because you’re taking something that’s supposed to be a fun moment for you and you’re making it about me … again. The moment she found out Taylor Swift wanted her on the “Karma” remix: I was living in my first apartment in Jersey, and Riot was there recording me. And I remember my manager called me, and he usually texts, but he called, and he’s like, ‘You ready for this one?’ And I’m thinking it’s going to be some bad news or something. He’s like, ‘Taylor Swift has a record for you to get on from her album.’ I’m playing it cool on the phone. I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s cool. Super cool.’ And then I hang up the phone and I’m hysterically crying. I’m in my walk-in closet, and I’m like, ‘Bro, this is not real life.’ Riot definitely filmed it. That’ll probably be in a documentary one day. With her unapologetic charm and unstoppable flow, Ice Spice is the perfect storm of talent and tenacity. In her revealing Rolling Stone interview, she proves why she's the most exciting name in rap right now. Don't miss the full cover story: HERE ! (Pictures via X/Rolling Stone Magazine)

  • 2NE1: The Original Bad Girls Of K-POP Are Back!

K-Pop fans, rejoice! Legendary girl group 2NE1 is officially back in the game. After what felt like an eternity, the wait is finally over. Yang Hyun Suk, the mastermind behind YG Entertainment, announced that 2NE1 is reuniting as part of the company's revival chapter. Formed in 2009, 2NE1 consists of CL (Lee Chae-rin), Dara (Sandara Park), Bom (Park Bom), and Minzy (Gong Min-ji). The group is renowned for their unique sound, style, and captivating stage presence, which has made them a significant part of the Hallyu wave. With hits like "Fire," "I Am the Best," and "Come Back Home," 2NE1 has left an indelible mark on the K-Pop industry. The group is kicking off their comeback tour in Seoul in October this year, followed by shows in Osaka and Tokyo in November and December. • Lisa - Rockstar

Lisa of Blackpink has released her comeback solo track, “Rockstar.” This marks her first solo work after leaving the YG imprint. "Rockstar" is produced by San Homaee and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. It is Lisa’s first solo single released under the new partnership of her LLOUD Co. management company and RCA Records. A solo album has yet to be announced. Let's get into the Henry Scholfield-directed visuals below. A very well-produced and directed music video. The cinematography is top-tier. The VFX moments were well placed, and I loved the characteristic attention to detail on every frame. One of the best music videos I've seen this year. I love how Lisa shows off her Thai roots by incorporating the streets of Bangkok as the backdrop. You can see a couple of sub-cultures represented in the music video, including three very gorgeous and well-known Ladyboys. Shout out to Bruze, Chinni, and Aeffy. I see it was important for Lisa to include Thai's LGBT+ community. Thailand recently became the third Asian jurisdiction after Nepal and Taiwan to legalise gay marriage. The choreography overall was quite underwhelming, especially considering the surrounding greatness. However, Lisa looked absolutely stunning, and I appreciate how her stylist managed to honour Lisa's well-known Aaliyah-esque aesthetic while still bringing a fresh and new look. While watching, a few things came to mind: Some choreography moments reminded me of Parris Goebel. Or is it just me? I noticed that Lisa says "Every city that I go is my city," which is very similar to a tagline used by CL, "Seoul city my city." Is this a nod or shade towards her former YG cohort? Lisa reportedly paid 20,000 THB to each Yaowarat Road shop owner for the ROCKSTAR music video shoot. And we didn't hear a peep about it. Now that's loyalty. What are your thoughts on Lisa's new music and visuals? Let's discuss this in the comments. (Screenshots via Youtube)

  • Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us

Kendrick Lamar has just released the video for Drake diss track Not Like Us . The track was first shared by Lamar earlier this year, during the highly publicized feud between him and Drake. This marked the third time Lamar dissed Drake within 36 hours. In the song, Lamar criticizes Drake for his alleged preference for younger women, even going as far as to call him a "certified paedophile." Lets get into the visuals and discuss after. The ongoing trolling is evident in the great video featuring everyone from Kendrick's hometown of Compton. The inclusion of Dave Free in the video is a notable moment. In "The Heart Part 6," Drake hinted that one of Kendrick Lamar’s kids might belong to Dave Free. However, in a surprising turn of events, Dave Free is now in the video and is credited as one of the video's directors. Additionally, the video shows Kendrick dancing with his partner, Whitney Alford, and their two children, which can be seen as a direct response to Drake's questioning of their relationship in his diss track 'Family Matters'. Everyone's calling this a victory lap, does this mean its over? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. PS: RIP to that owl piñata. (Pictures/Screenshots via Youtube)

  • Rob49 and Cardi B Unite for Electrifying "On Dat Money" Visuals

Rising rapper Rob49 from New Orleans has just released a brand new single, "On Dat Money," featuring none other than the Queen of Rap herself, Cardi B! The high-energy track, produced by LunchMoney Lewis and Schife, is accompanied by a fresh new music video directed by George Buford, Frederick Buford, and DirectedByFrankie. Rob49 is hyped about the collaboration, saying, "I've been grinding hard all summer, and teaming up with Cardi B on 'On Dat Money' is something I'm very excited about. Her talent and energy are unmatched, and this record is going to prove I'm not stopping anytime soon." Let's keep it real: while I'm grateful for Cardi B's feature on "On Dat Money" with Rob49, I have to admit that the song and video didn't quite live up to my expectations. Don't get me wrong - Cardi looks stunning, and her vocals are top-notch as always. However, the track itself feels like more of the same old routine. Cardi, I love you, but from now on, I'm begging you to push the boundaries and give us something fresh and innovative. Whether it's exploring a new genre or introducing a unique sound, I'm craving something that sets you apart from the rest. The truth is, everything has started to sound a bit too familiar lately. • From Rags to Riches: JT's "City Cinderella" EP and My Top 5 Picks

JT has confidently positioned herself as the "City Cinderella" by unveiling her inaugural solo mixtape this past Friday. JT has proven that she's a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop scene. This 16-track project includes collaborations with DJ Khaled, Stunna Girl, Clip, and Jeezy on the remix of her single "OKAY." It's a perfect blend of sharp lyrics, infectious beats, and unapologetic attitude. From the opening notes of the first track, JT sets the tone for an EP that's equal parts empowering and unapologetic. Her flow is effortless, weaving between laid-back and aggressive with ease. Throughout the EP, JT's confidence and charisma shine bright, making "City Cinderella" a must-listen for her fans and anyone looking for a healthy dose of sass and inspiration. While JT's "City Cinderella" EP is a solid debut, there's one area that could use a bit more attention: variety. I would've loved to see a couple of light-hearted, party-friendly tracks to balance out the heavier themes and showcase JT's range. A few upbeat, carefree vibes would've added another layer of depth to this already impressive EP! After a thorough and repeat listening session, In no specific order I've compiled my top 5 picks from "City Cinderella." TOP 5 Intro (Hope) JT's "Intro (Hope)" is a breathtakingly honest masterpiece, showcasing her vulnerability and softer side. With unflinchingly raw bars, JT opens up her heart and soul, making her even more relatable and endearing. This track's vulnerability is its greatest strength, setting it apart as a true standout. JT's willingness to share her true self is a testament to her artistry and courage. OKAY - Solo version The original version of "OKAY" clearly drew inspiration from Jeezy's style, and while the remix had its moments, I found myself resonating more with the solo version. JT's signature simplicity in her rap style perfectly complements her reflective lyrics, which chronicle her journey from adversity to success. The solo version's authenticity and raw emotion make it a standout, and JT's unique voice shines through in a way that feels both genuine and captivating. Uncle AI JT delivers a high-octane performance on this reworked version of Salt-N-Pepa's iconic "Push It" beat, channeling the energetic spirit of Uncle Luke. With unapologetic fervor, JT champions financial independence for women, standing in solidarity with every girl who's breaking free from relying on men for support. While some may find her singing moments slightly excessive, they don't detract from the track's infectious energy and empowering message. Swang JT officially declares her party arrival with "Swang"! I'm hooked on the ridiculously catchy hook - it's an earworm that refuses to leave. The rapid-fire beat is hypnotic, making it impossible to sit still. But what really has me curious is whether JT is subtly throwing shade at GloRilla amidst the dancefloor vibes. Either way, "Swang" is an addictive banger that'll keep you moving. Brick Talk JT's "Braggadocious Track" is a celebratory anthem that proudly reps her hometown of Dade County, Miami - the 305! Although the song's brevity leaves me wanting more, its impact is undeniable. This fiery track is undeniably JT's anthem, showcasing her roots and pride for her city. I just wish it lasted longer!
