  • Tinashe's "Nasty" Performance

Tinashe recently lit up the stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live with an electrifying performance of her latest single, "Nasty." The singer was joined by a dynamic group of female dancers, bringing her signature energy and exceptional dance skills to the stage. Great performance by Tinashe. Nasty proves to be a slow cooker for the Kentucky native. The single originally dropped back in April and recently became her first solo song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100! Congratulations!! I expect to see an award-show performance of "Nasty" in the coming months! (Screenshots via Youtube)

  • Ariana Grande - The Boy Is Mine

Brandy and Monica show off their acting chops in Ariana Grande's music video for "The Boy is Mine." We eagerly anticipated the release of "The Boy Is Mine" as soon as Ariana Grande revealed the tracklist for her new album, Eternal Sunshine. Even before its release, excitement was high, especially when we learned that it was connected to the Grammy award-winning duet by Brandy and Monica of the same name. Ariana has since released "The Boy Is Mine" as an official single. Now we have the epic music video featuring the legendary Brandy, R&B songstress Monica, and YOU star Penn Badgley. The video was exceptional. I am impressed by the way Ariana and her creative team are able to constantly bring fresh and unique perspectives that I hadn't seen before. My only wish is that Brandy and Monica had chosen outfits that were more in line with the news anchor aesthetic, but regardless, they both looked absolutely beautiful. Are you feeling the new music video? Press play below. (Screenshots via Youtube)

  • Tems - Gangsta

Tems has recently released her much-anticipated debut album, "BORN IN THE WILD," and one of the most captivating tracks we're obsessed with is "Gangsta." The song is produced by Spax, the talented producer behind "Love me Jeje." It features an interpolation of Diana King's 1997 hit "L-L-Lies," and given its recent "visualizer" treatment, "Gangsta" might just be the next single to watch out for. Cole, promising a diverse and exciting listening experience for fans of the Nigerian artist. Get into Gangsta below:

  • Rihanna for Perfect magazine

Rihanna is at it again, this time she stuns for her first cover of three for Perfect magazine. Via PERFECT Magazine: Issue 6.5, a unique collaboration with the multi-hyphenate pop star, fashion and beauty icon, Rihanna. ‘Rihanna in One Word’ comprises three covers, one poster and an extended series of original imagery made with the icon. Rihanna was photographed over May Bank Holiday weekend in New York by Rafael Pavarotti, Fashion Editor, Jahleel Weaver, overseen by Perfect Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Katie Grand. I find the thin eyebrows interesting, but I co-sign. Makeup has advanced so much that if you wanted, you could draw eyebrows as high as you like instead of plucking them. I wonder if hair and makeup styles were inspired by Divine, the drag queen. Get your physical copy of 'Perfect' HERE!

  • FLO - Caught Up

There's brand new music with a new video from FLO titled "Caught Up." Exciting! The London-based R&B trio wants to make it very clear to any potential lovers that there will be no shady business going on around here. The message this time around is to not get caught up in any questionable mess. Okkurrr! “Caught Up” is produced by Pop Wansel, MNEK, and Jay Versace, and the music video is directed by Ganna Bogdan. I really like the song. It's catchy and has that effortless, nonchalant attitude that only R&B girls can pull off. It's very reminiscent of Monica. Their individual and very specific tones are as crisp and clear as ever, which ultimately becomes the cherry on top. Having said that, I am not feeling the music video. It comes off as such a throwaway visual. I almost wish the music video was released much later so people can get into the song without the added disappointment. I mean, how is this music video any different from "Summertime"? I'm just going to pretend that this is a buzz single and that the next release will be epic AF. But man, “Caught Up” is so so good! Get into their latest below and let me know your thoughts in the comments. (Screenshots via Youtube)

  • Cardi B features on 'Wanna Be' remix

Ooh, the girls are beefing... The remix to the song "Wanna Be" by Megan Thee Stallion and Glorilla featuring Cardi B is making waves, with many calling it the potential song of the summer. Cardi B's fiery verses have certainly brought the heat to the track. In the remix, Cardi B doesn't hold back, taking shots at some of her peers with sharp and catchy lines. She showcases her versatility with different flows and vocal styles, stealing the spotlight with her performance. It's no secret who Cardi is calling out in her lyrics. "B**ch please, don't nobody wanna be ya." I expect this remix to be a huge hit. What do you think of the remix? Listen to it below and share your thoughts.

  • Muni Long x Mariah Carey - Made For Me

After giving fans a sneak peek earlier this month, Muni Long and Mariah Carey have now dropped their much-anticipated “Made For Me (Remix).” The recent Platinum certification from the RIAA solidifies the single's status as one of the year's hottest R&B records, and what better way to elevate it than by adding a global icon to the mix. The updated version includes additional background vocals from Carey and a new verse. I'm not a fan of it. I think the AI version that was circulating on the internet ruined it for me because it was almost so.. believable. I think they tried so hard to make it sound different from the AI version, but in doing so, they took away from the song's simplistic elegance. I'm surprised they would still release it with the AI version out there. I appreciate both of their vocals when they sing alone, but together, it sounds slightly forced. On a side note, I would love to hear how Mariah would have done this song solo. In saying all that, the song is already doing amazing things for Muni, so having the Mariah bragging rights could just be another notch in her belt. You can listen to Mariah Carey’s remix of Muni Long’s “Made For Me” in the video below.

  • Normani - Candy Paint

Normani celebrates her birthday with the release of Candy Paint, the follow-up single to "1:59," featuring Gunna. Normani is gearing up to release her debut album, Dopamine, in two weeks. Today, she has released the second single, which has been circulating since last June. The song was featured in a Bose commercial and has gained popularity on TikTok, and now it's finally getting an official release. "Candy Paint" is absolutely the standout. Co-written by Normani and produced by Starrah and TBHits, the song seamlessly blends hip-hop and R&B and showcases Normani's confident delivery. Normani, you should consider this approach for every release. Drop two songs, and let fans decide which one resonates the most—then create a music video for the chosen track. You can still incorporate the other song into the video as an intro or an outro. However, "Candy Paint" is undoubtedly the winner. Get into Candy Paint below. I'm addicted!

  • Eminem - Houdini

He's baaack! Rap superstar Eminem is set to release a new album called "The Death of Slim Shady." The album's lead single, "Houdini," just dropped along with a star-studded music video. In the song, Eminem takes aim at his old self before directing his focus towards other artists. It wouldn't be surprising if the line about Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez ruffles some feathers. The music video features appearances by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Pete Davidson, Shane Gillis, and others. The song is cool and clever, but it's just not hitting the mark for me. While I appreciate the creativity in the visuals and can tell that a lot was invested, it doesn't quite resonate. Could it be the timing? Like, why now? Why was there no rollout? Check out Houdini below and let me know your thoughts. (Screenshots via Youtube)
